My Grandmother's Piano

There are a few of you bloggers out there who know my family and I are moving from Connecticut back to California -- well, now you all know. The last two years we've spent here have given me a chance to address much of my childhood in a self-affirming way. And, as we leave, I'm taking special care to specifically release those things that meant the most to me for one reason or another.

So, indulge me, if you will, as I pay tribute to my grandmother's piano.

Well, that made me weepy. Thanks a lot. I think you'll both be okay too. I have a thing for old pianos for very similar reasons - so similar it's a little spooky. Someday we'll share.

Similar, hm? We will share one day, I think.

The guy who bought this piano was such a sweetie. I had visions of some bumpkin trying to load it in his pick up, but he and his brother brought a u-haul with steel ramps. What a relief! He paid me twice what I asked for and then asked me for my email so he could send pictures. I got all weepy on the guy, and he took it like a man.

I made the video tribute in my garage when I was waiting for them to arrive to pick it up. Worked out.

I'm so glad you liked it.
